CHRISTMAS EVE HOT COCOA
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips
- 6 ½ cups milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
Optional:
- Candy canes
- Marshmallows
- Aerosol spray whipped cream, such as Redi Whip
You’ll also need:
- Crock Pot or 6 quart stock pot (see note)
- Whisk
- Ladle
- Serving mugs
Directions:
Combine first five ingredients in Crock Pot or stock pot* and heat on low until chocolate chips are melted. Whisk to stir and help melt the chocolate. When hot cocoa is fully melted and warm, serve topped with marshmallows, a swirl of whipped cream, or a candy cane stick for stirring. Enjoy!
*Note: if you use a stock pot on your cook top, keep a close eye on it and stir frequently to prevent the milk and chocolate from scalding to the bottom. Crock Pots do heat more evenly and slowly and will prevent this.
